The Profhand Pedal Wheelchair, in use since 2009, has created a new category for patient therapy and mobility. This unique wheelchair was originally designed for stroke patients to allow the ability to train an afflicted weaker leg by exercising the healthy leg. Results showed that by putting the healthy leg in motion, the patient’s afflicted leg may be stimulated as the muscles contract. This innovative wheelchair now acts as a daily exercise device for people with Parkinson’s, Cerebral Palsy, a stroke, balance concerns for fall prevention, amputees, diabetics, recoverers from a fractured foot or leg, those with hip or knee problems, and power mobility users. The Profhand pedal wheelchair will help those benefit with a better form of exercise and independence.
The Pedal Wheelchair comes in two sizes. The Medium model has a 16-inch seat and will accommodate users up to 5’4″ in height depending on individual body type. The user weight limit for the Medium model is 220 pounds with the chair weighing approximately 30 pounds. The Large chair has an 18-inch seat and accommodates users up to 6’4″ in height. Its maximum user weight limit is 300 pounds and comes in weighing at 38.8 pounds. The Pedal Wheelchair is made with an aluminum frame and comes in color choices of Red or Yellow.
Putting the “Fun” back in “Functional” users will gain greater independence wherever they please. The tight-turn capability allows it to be maneuvered in small spaces often found in homes, rooms, elevators, and hallways. Easily go to social activities and visit family and friends while simultaneously getting beneficial exercise. This ability of self-locomotion may truly bring about renewed happiness, a feeling of independence and an approved mental outlook and pleasure from increased mobility ability!
The Profhand Pedal Wheelchair starts at just $2,500 and ACG is happy to provide FREE in-home demonstrations! Or, drop by either the Bedford or Rowlett Showroom to test drive the chair for yourself. We’re here to make your life more independent and mobile starting today.
